We’re delighted that The Wick has featured our exhibition After Nature in “The Wick List”, highlighting it as one of the season’s most compelling shows to experience. The piece observes how After Nature, curated by Ben Tufnell, gathers established Land Art figures alongside emerging voices, offering visitors a rich, contemplative journey through works that probe our relationship with the natural world.
Artists such as Richard Long, David Nash, Tania Kovats, Aimee Parrott, Nissa Nishikawa, Onya McCausland, Fred Sorrell, Lotte Scott, Magnus Hammick and Simon Hitchens are named for their contributions to this exploration of form, texture, and environmental presence.
The Wick emphasises the way the exhibition encourages slowing down: to look closely at materiality, light, shadow, erosion, gesture - all in a setting that rewards time and reflection. We are especially pleased that the viewing captures what we strive for at Close Gallery: art that allows space to breathe, and perspectives to emerge gradually.
