ROCK PAPER SCISSORS spotlighted in CULTURALEE

We are pleased to share that our current exhibition Rock, Paper, Scissors at CLOSE Gallery has been featured in Culturalee in conversation with exhibiting artists Darren Appiagyei, Dean Coates and Amy Stephens. The article highlights the exhibition’s emphasis on slow making, material play and deep engagement with process - reflecting the gallery’s ethos of thoughtful, tactile art-making and slow looking.

In the interview, the artists discuss how the theme of material exploration and imaginative play informed their work, and why hand-crafted, material-driven practice continues to be vital in contemporary art. Rock, Paper, Scissors brings together a group of artists whose processes span wood, ceramics, stone, fibre and more, inviting viewers to engage with materials in new, mindful ways.

Rock, Paper, Scissors is on view at CLOSE Gallery, Hatch Beauchamp, Somerset, until 17 January 2026.
