We are excited to share that Gordon Cheung's Jan van Huysum I (New Order) has been selected as a featured work in The Wick's Dream & Discover series from our current exhibition, Many Worlds, One Mind.
The article explores Cheung's acclaimed New Order series, in which seventeenth-century Dutch still-life paintings are transformed through digital algorithms, creating images that sit between beauty and disruption. The feature highlights how the work connects themes of abundance, fragility and speculative markets, ideas that run throughout Many Worlds, One Mind.
The Wick also introduces readers to Cheung's wider practice, which brings together art history, technology, global economics and cultural identity through painting, sculpture, print and installation.
