Americana | A Selection of Photographs by Barry Cawston R.W.A

Barry Cawston has always been fascinated by both North and South America since hitch-hiking around the USA and across Canada as an Eighteen year old. He has since visited Mexico, Cuba and Brazil and returned to the USA many times.

The photographs exhibited are some of Cawston's favourites from the wider collection; most taken whilst on long road trips. 

Many of the images exhibited are Iconic in nature, with the feel of stills from a movie; road signs, industrial sites, motels and faded grandeur, sites which many would simply overlook, but Barry’s watchful eye quietly picks out the details, isolating them in the frame for the viewer to enjoy.
