Darren Appiagyei
Overview
Darren Appiagyei uses the imperfections of wood as defining features of his practice as a London-based wood artist, curator, and public speaker. He is based at Cockpit Arts where he received the Turners award in 2017 allowing him to develop his practice. Appiagyei became known for his creative use of the Australian wildflower, Banksia Nuts which he originally found in a Peckham timber shop. Committed to sustainability, Appiagyei now focuses on using locally sourced materials for his works, specifically from Shooters Hill.
