Christabel Blackburn and 'LOOK OUT' Featured in Trebuchet Magazine

We are pleased to share a new feature in Trebuchet Magazine on Christabel Blackburn, whose work is currently on view in LOOK OUT, our group exhibition exploring landscape across a century of change at CLOSE Gallery.

In the interview, Blackburn reflects on her relationship with the natural world and the ways in which landscape shapes our sense of place and belonging. Discussing the paintings presented in the exhibition, she explores the relationship between people and their surroundings, drawing on the physical presence of trees, water and land.

Blackburn also considers how painting can capture a sense of stillness and presence, while acknowledging the changing landscapes we inhabit. Her reflections offer a personal insight into the themes at the heart of LOOK OUT, where artists across generations explore landscape as both a physical environment and an emotional space.
