(Base & pole fabrication - £1,000
*The sculpture is accompanied, if wanted, by No.1 of its corresponding landscape print.)
A freestanding sculpture assembled from deep sea trawl floats recovered along a two-mile stretch of remote shoreline. Lodged in caves and cliff crevices, the floats were gathered over a series of low tides and temporarily reconfigured on site to create a series of vertical stacks, documented as photographs. This work gives physical form to one of those ephemeral arrangements - retaining the logic of the stacks built and photographed in situ, while recontextualising the material within the gallery space. Fixed to an aluminium baseplate, the sculpture formalises the found elements into a lasting sculptural presence.
