Joe Warrior Walker

Joe Warrior-Walker is an abstract painter painting landscapes with oils, acrylics, pure pigments and artist mediums, grounds of colour are overlain with various drawn and brushed components. Painting mostly with a muted colour palette Joe exploits the opacity and translucency of the various mediums to make abstracted forms merge, mix and obscure the previously painted layers exploiointing the materilaity of the mediums. Foreground shapes jump out at you as if floating on the surface of the canvas. Occasionally high key pinks, yellows and reds peep out from behind or lie on the surface. There is no hiding of history in these paintings, brush strokes, scratches and lines of construction are evident in the final compositions forming rich, raw and honest paintings. Joe Warrior-Walker is graduate from Falmouth University where he studied Fine art at Chelsea School of Art and later an MA from University East Anglia.
