In this series of watercolours, lines in shades of grey appear to radiate outward from a central point, to rotate, or to recede, racing inwards toward a tiny implosion or ‘black hole’. This inward/outward pulsation sets up a tension between the material surface of the paper and movement in space.

These works are part of a number of different series investigating line, space and translucent colour.
Anna Mossman lives and works in London. Her work explores aspects of duration and reproduction in the broadest sense, often in relation to the hand-made. Engaging with the copy, repetition, pattern and variation, she works primarily with the drawn, photographed, written and painted. She has exhibited across Europe, in America and Canada. She studied at Camberwell College of Arts and Goldsmiths, University of London and is currently Associate Lecturer in Drawing (BA Fine Art) and Photography (BA Fine Art) at Camberwell College of Arts, UAL.
